New Brunswick's Jeff Smith has achieved a PDC Pro Tour Card for the next Two Years.  Jeff almost achieved the tour card on Day 1 Results reaching the Final Tour Card match.  Day 2 Results produced one of the best matches of the event... featuring none other than Canada vs Canada as Kenny MacNeil put Jeff out 6-4 in a great battle (one leg went 16 darts, all the others were sub 14). Day 3 Results seen Jeff cruise back into, and the Win the final match for the card.  There were 218 players who attempted PDC Q-School, and 178 of them went home empty handed.  Hopefully this will encourage other North American players to go and give it a shot.

Congrats to our 2012 New Brunswick Provincial Champions, and the rest of the players who make up Team New Brunswick heading to Thunderbay Ontario in June.  Marie Doyle has captured her first New Brunswick Ladies title, making her the first female player to have come from our Youth program to win the Ladies title.  Steve "The Vulture" Vautour captures his second Provincial Singles title in as many attempts after taking the year off in 2011.  On a another note, it was great to see a 50% increase in the number of men who tried out for the team this year...

Trivia: Of the 8 member mens team, five of the eight players have been the #1 at least once can you name them?

   Player Spotlite: Madi Mauger

New Brunswick Youth Junior Girls Champion

Hello!

My name is Madison Mauger and I'm 13 years old. I'm originally from Kitchener, Ontario, but moved to Petitcodiac when I was 9. This is my first year playing darts and I enjoy every minute of it! I use Gorilla Grip darts and they're 27 grams. Almost every weekend my parents would go to they're friends houses and play darts, and I just got tired of sitting and watching them, so I started playing along with them! My favorite movie is Halloween 1, my favorite song is Three Little Birds by Bob Marley, and my favorite foods are green grapes and Rice Krispy squares. Also, I love playing ball hockey and baseball and my favorite athlete is Alex Bilodeau. My favorite dart players are Adrian Lewis and Phil Taylor. I recieved 1st place in the New Brunswick Championship for Jr. Girls, and My dad and I recieved first place in Darts for Heart at the Havelock Legion. My biggest goal I have for the Nationals in Edmonton, is to just do my best and have fun! The thing I  tell alot of my friends who are new to the sport, is to take no pressure! We all have our good days and our bad days, but never appologize for what you shoot and stay optimistic.

On behalf of all of us at NB Darts Madi.. Have a great Nationals, and most of all a great time.
